About Willow Lane Studio

As a multi-passionate individual, I have spent my life learning, teaching, experimenting, and honing my skills in various areas in art, craft, education, and more recently, wellness and mental health modalities.  Allowing participants to connect with themselves in new ways, connect with others in the community, and nurture curiosity and creativity in a non-judgmental environment is the focus of the studio.  I am very excited and honoured to be part of your journey in a way that feels right for you.

I look forward to working with you!

Singing Bowls

Pottery

My journey in clay began in childhood, but the hobby business I am enjoying today has only come about in the last few years.   I mostly create functional pieces but have been experimenting with more sculptural work as of late.  I sell independently and participate in a few local shows each year.

Singing Bowls

Sound, singing, and music have been a major part of my life and healing journey. Singing bowls are instruments that are played to connect with the body on a vibrational level.  They have multiple benefits for your mind and body and is an immersive experience for your whole system.

Events & Workshops

Various workshops and events will be hosted in the studio throughout each month. I will also be participating in various events as a vendor in the community, so keep an eye out for some amazing local events this summer and fall.

Join me for an evening sound session followed by a cup of tea and a friendly chat.

A "Sound Bath" is an immersive experience that involves the ears and the whole body.  Participants take a relaxing position (typically laying down) while quartz singing bowls, vocals, and other instruments are played.  Participants react in various ways during a session.  Some common reactions to a sound bath may include a feeling of relaxation, emotional release, restlessness, tingles, calmness, sleepiness, heat or chills, and vibration in the body or head.

Sound baths are not suited for those with medical implants, pacemakers, sound-induced epilepsy, heart conditions, or other conditions where vibration may cause issues.  Also, the studio is on the lower level of the building, so participants will need to be able to climb a flight of stairs to get to the space. Please email if you have any questions or concerns about participating. arianew@me.com

Participants are asked to wear warm comfortable clothing including socks or slippers (don't worry about making a fashion statement - think comfy and cozy!) to make their session comfier.  You might consider bringing an extra blanket or yoga mat if you feel it would enhance your comfort.  The studio provides a yoga mat, bolster, and a yoga blanket, but you may want extra cushioning under your body.

I would be happy to connect with you and answer any questions you may have about the events or sound baths in general.

What is a Sound Bath?

The practice of sound bathing, as the name suggests, is the practice of being deeply immersed in sounds and vibrations that have the power to cleanse and heal. It is a journey of self-discovery through deep relaxation and meditation.

Taking a sound bath is taking a holistic approach to relaxation and healing. It can be a perfect escape from the modern stresses of life. A sound bath can cleanse your soul and restore your balance. This stems from the immense power of sound and vibration. Sound has a great influence on our emotions and health and can make us feel happy, energized and relaxed.
